Abbie May is a fully qualified, international celebrity make-up artist based in London, specialising in TV, video, red carpet, bridal, music videos and editorial.
Abbie May started her career in makeup artistry in 2012. Abbie's creativity came through from a young age, after initially thinking she wanted to pursue a career in acting and music, she soon realised it wasn't her long-term dream despite loving the talent side of things. After some research and thinking about her future, she decided to enrol in a hair & media makeup course - she quickly fell in love with the world of makeup and never looked back.
After qualifying, Abbie focussed on getting her name out there through social media. Soon after, she was introduced to one of her first celebrity clients - Maya Jama, through a friend. She worked with Maya regularly for a few years whilst building her clientele with the social awareness she gained, which led her to work with more industry names such as Yasmin Evans and Roman Kemp.
Abbie is recognised for both her creative skillset as a makeup artist, but also her diverse ability to work with all skin tones, genders and ages, creating a bespoke look that works best for them. In 2014, she was approached to take on the role of lead make- up artist for Africa Fashion Week and continues to work with them eight years later. Her dedication and commitment to the makeup world has gained her a loyal and engaged following both on and offline.
Her portfolio includes editorial work for publications such as Wonderland, W and Vogue International, and working on campaigns for brands such as Adidas, Sleek Makeup, Mary Kay and Sneakersnstuff. Abbie also continues to focus on and regularly work with her celebrity clients such as Vick Hope's personal make up artist, Wes Nelson and SG Lewis.
